Dear Clara - Steam page in review and gameplay revision.

Good news, the Steam page is now current in the review process. Once it's done, I will update on here for you guys to wishlist. The last 10 days before the demo was finished was pretty much all crunch, I only had grey blockouts and needed to model a full house. On top of marketing after release, I was quite burnt out.

This month, I am focusing on gameplay and how to best represent that properly in the steam page. The development demo is also downloadable again, I still wanted players to experience the core game loop even if it's not a full representation.

Clara's room has had a small redesign to make it feel more lived in. I also optimizing the 3d models in the background because otherwise it wouldn't translate well from Blender to UE5. Infact, the whole process of transferring models from blender can be painful if the materials aren't prebaked.

In between was a lot of reprogramming of existing blueprints so the game can scale upwards if I am to add more puzzles and story. The part about adding puzzles is they also need to feed into the story of the game, which adds complexity. It's actually the hardest part of designing Dear Clara, the demo story was self contained and exist to show off the mechanics, the full game would need a story and puzzles designed to work with the mechanics in the game. I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around it, but it's fun to think about.
